Booth, Davies and Craig

On Wednesday 23 March 1999, I met up with Tim Booth and Saul Davies, of the band James
I suffer from Congenital Muscular Dystrophy (CMD), and I visit
Helen House in Oxford to give Mum and Dad a break from looking after me (and to give me a break from them looking after me!!!).  When I was let loose on one of the keyboards there, they discovered my talent (it wasn't a miracle, I knew how to play!!).  They said that they "must get him into a recording studio!", but nothing was done about it.
Helen House have contacts with a charity called the
Children's Wish Foundation, who make dreams come true for children with disabilities.  Helen House got in touch with them, and they sent a form to Mum and Dad.  They had to fill in the top 3 things I would love to do.  Recording with James was the one that happened (thank goodness Robbie Williams was busy!!! SORRY ROBBIE)
  So, after lunch at
Planet Hollywood, we caught a taxi to Chiswick (I felt sick after the trip!  I had to travel sideways!!!).  Saul came downstairs to meet us, and we went up the studio to meet Tim.
It was getting very hot, and I just
had to take my Planet Hollywood hat off.  About 5 minutes later, I turned around to see Tim wearing it - hence the title of the page!
After 2½ hours in the studio, we had recorded 4 songs (live and plugged-in!).  They sent me and my parents to
Tower Records to spend £100 on whatever I wanted!  Phew, I was absolutely worn-out after that day.

A week later, I received a CD and Cassette of our recordings, and a video of the event, shot by
Marc Granger, who arranged the whole day (thanks Marc, it was the best day of my life!!!).
